Razorbacks

With a football history as rich as that of most of the nation’s immediately recognizable and successful programs, the University Of Arkansas players and fans were treated to a tremendously exciting and galvanizing surprise on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. The announcement of Bret Bielema as the new head coach sent the Hog Nation into a happy delirium based upon his reputation as a solid winner earned at Wisconsin.

Coach Bielema is going to be pleasantly surprised by the enthusiasm of the Arkansas fans and will be motivated to produce players that will carry on the reputation of the program. The names from the past are among the best and include Lance Alworth, Billy Ray Smith Senior and Junior, Loyd Phillips, CFL legend Wayne Harris, and so many more. Hall Of Fame legend Frank Broyles who was the caretaker of the Arkansas program as a National Championship winning coach from 1958 through 1976, and later as Athletic Director, has set a standard that insured that the Razorbacks would always be a “first class” operation from top to bottom.

Coach Bielima is going to find a first class equipment staff for football, led by Chuck Hall. Chuck earned his sterling reputation at Kansas State and Louisville, breaking into the profession as a student equipment manager at K-State. Internships with the NFL’s Redskins and Chargers added to his skill and knowledge and he will provide Coach Bielima with a state of the art approach to the use of football equipment and attire. Chuck was in the forefront of providing each Razorback player with both a practice and a game helmet, insuring that the equipment and especially the helmets, are always as safe as possible.

To maintain the highest levels of enthusiasm, Chuck has also established an eye-catching display of all of the Southeastern Conference team helmets as well as the historical collection of Arkansas helmets, dating to the suspension era. A glance at
HELMET HUT’s seasonal write-ups and display of Razorbacks helmets will no doubt give the reader the same sense of excitement that each player feels when he enters the equipment room area. Thanks to Chuck Hall and his staff, new head coach Bret Bielima will approach this new era of Razorback football with the highest standards of excellence.
