"Aggies" 1964
(Authentic Reproduction)

Having the pedigree of a former Red Blaik player at Army, every pre-season forecast made reference to the Aggies playing like the Army teams of the glory years but they were undermanned and had not recruited well. He began play in '64 with the maroon shells, now festooned with a white center stripe and white player numerals on the sides. Unfortunately the scrambling of QB Eddie McKaughan and All Conference rushing efforts of HB Jim Stabler could not avoid finishing 1964 at 1-9. It was obvious that Foldberg did not have the answer that would allow his troops to compete against the dominance of Texas and Arkansas and he was replaced by a former member of the Bryant-coached A&M teams, Gene Stallings.
