The Medical Community Discovers New Use For Vintage Riddell "RK" Suspension Helmet
As the newest members of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, Cathy and I are usually first to be given the "out of town" assignments. We recently had to go to Las Vegas to work as greeters at an exhibit booth during the sales convention. Can you imagine how thrilled we were when former Dallas Cowboy superstars Bob Lilly and Roger Staubach introduced themselves to us at our booth? At first, Cathy and I were a little skeptical -- we wondered why would these Cowboy legends want to meet us, plus their jerseys looked too similar to the current style.
But when our heroes returned later with their vintage Riddell "RK" suspension helmets all of our doubts were quickly erased. Who else but actual former star Cowboy players could ever possess such unmistakably authentic and wonderful keepsake treasures from their past?
They allowed us to take our picture with them (above) and the four of us are going out for dinner tonight and if Cathy and I are lucky we might even get to see their Super Bowl rings. Despite our age differences we have already discovered that we have something in common with them -- when we told them that we had never dated anyone older than 24 before, Roger replied "neither have we." Bob seemed very quiet and shy. Other than when I overheard him whisper this puzzling remark to Roger, "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas," all he did was smile.
