1971 Glen Edwards
(Authentic Reproduction)

It is easy to picture former Steeler "db" Glen Edwards wearing this helmet during his early years with the team that was soon to become a dynasty. This rugged beauty is a very rare Riddell "Kralite - 8" model with a 1971 time clock stamped into its black impregnated (not painted) shell. It is complete with leather jaw pads, rubber crown piece, correct period white nose snubber and Schutt facemask with gray clips. This helmet has been carefully restored to reflect actual "midseason" condition. The "dark mustard" colored center stripe and slightly wider font (compared to later years) numerals have been correctly replicated. Close examination of the helmet's Steeler logo reveals the same familiar thin creases that were evident on actual Steeler helmets from that era -- this is the result of using the exact same "destructible" vinyl decals that were used by the team during that period (the team also slit some of the decals prior to application attempting to reduce this creasing effect). This is the same vintage helmet that was used by many great Steeler players when they started their championship climb in the early 1970s. A great period and a great helmet for Steeler fans. Thanks Marc!
